Noori Pictures is one of the world's leading independent companies in both production and international distribution of mainly Iranian and Afghan documentaries and feature films.Since its foundation in 2012, the films represented by Noori Pictures have either been shortlisted in the most prestigious film festivals or have won numerous awards. The company is very open to collaborating with more talented filmmakers and producers around the world and aims to produce and internationally distribute films that resonate on a global scale.


Katayoon Shahabi began her career in the film industry in 1985 at the Farabi Cinema Foundation, where she worked with renowned directors such as Abbas Kiarostami and Mohsen Makhmalbaf to promote Iranian cinema worldwide. In 1994, she co-founded Cima Media International (CMI), which focused on film and television production and distribution, gaining experience in co-production and international distribution.

In 2001, she founded Sheherazad Media International, Iran's first private film distribution and co-production company. She introduced talented filmmakers such as Asghar Farhadi and Mohammad Rasoulof to the world, and collaborated with established directors such as Rakhshan Banietemad.

In 2012, she founded Noori Pictures in France, expanding her role as a producer and supporting award-winning filmmakers at festivals such as Cannes and Venice.

Shahabi has served as a jury member at prestigious festivals, including Cannes and San Sebastian, and has received global recognition, including being named one of the 50 most influential women in Iran and receiving the Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters from the French Ministry of Culture in 2017.

She is a member of SPI, SCAM and the Guild of Documentary and Fiction Producers in Iran.
